Wollongong West Rotary Club first saw a need for a school in the Wollongong Hospital Children's Ward in the early 1960's. Following consultation with the Hospital it was decided that they would enclose the solarium adjoining the Children's Ward and employ a teacher to run the school. The project began in 1965 with the school being fully operational in 1966.
In 1970 the NSW Department of Education took over the running of the school, adding it to their list of hospital schools, some of which had been established as far back as 1923.
In 1998 the Children's Ward moved into a newly built wing of the hospital. Within this ward was a purpose built schoolroom, incorporating an office, storeroom and toilet.
At the end of 2017 our schoolroom moved to a different part of the Children's Ward. Funding from the Illawarra Community Foundation and Illawarra Convoy helped to refurbish the ward, including our new schoolroom.
