“I just want to take a moment to say how amazing the nurses, staff, teachers and doctors, on the children’s ward at Wollongong Hospital, are! AMAZING!
I had no idea that they have a Hospital School on the ward... this morning Vesper was quite down, in pain and was saying ‘mum I want to go home’... on cue, in walked two of the loveliest teachers and invited her to participate in Hospital School for the day, her face lit up, her whole mood changed, and off she shuffled with her drip to class.
It’s such an incredible service, the nurses can pop in and do their obs, she can leave at anytime it becomes too much.
I can see how this kind of service can mentally make a hospital stay so much better. It also gives the parents a positive reprieve.
